Finding My Way In

As part of Ciel Gallery's collective, I am participating in Ciel's silent auction this year by donating an original.  All funds raised will go to the Arts & Science Council, an organization I have benefited greatly from.

Statement:
I incorporate organic shapes, broken abalone shells and a color palette representative of life on our planet.
My approach is symbolic. The broken shell and heavy textures represent, in my view, life’s hardships. Today, in particular, it seems all animals, plants and humans face daunting challenges that force survival instincts, often leaving “battle scars”. The organic shapes are entwined throughout, serving as a scaffold, where hope and strength find a way in and set root.
