Biographical Information
Tina Alberni is a multidisciplinary artist whose vibrant, socially conscious work bridges analog and digital realms. Born in New York and raised between Puerto Rico and Colombia, her multicultural roots and Andean heritage inform bold palettes and layered symbolism.
For three decades, Alberni has exhibited across the U.S., Latin America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, with works in collections including Atrium Health and Johns Hopkins.
Blending painting, assemblage, printmaking, digital media, and recycled materials, she weaves stories, cultures, and emotional landscapes.
Drawing on automatism, synesthesia, and her experience with Marfan syndrome, Alberni explores resilience, fragility, and interconnectedness. She also pioneers augmented reality in art, creating interactive works that engage younger audiences.
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education (K–12), Alberni is a former educator and gallerist who remains committed to accessibility, advocacy, and collective change, often donating proceeds to nonprofits tied to her themes.
Her work departs from issues such as climate change, displacement, endangered species, and technology’s pervasiveness in human life.
