Through this series of five works, I share how I envision our inner alchemy looking like when we disengage from thought and step outside the confines of our mind; to just be in the moment with higher self; open, aware and accepting without judgments and opinions.
This polyptych represents a mindset of overcoming struggles that have to do with bravery, courage, autonomy, conviction and vigor (listed in order as viewed in series from left to right)
In my case, for example, when I see someone stretch a certain way, jog along the street, dance vigorously, fast pace walk or anything that is an extreme challenge for me, instead of opining on my own deficiencies, I become one with the sensation and experience it. It’s very real and transformative. I give myself the opportunity to experience something I can't physically do.
Through the years, I learned to flow and let transformation happen by letting go, and not thinking too much about what I didn’t have or couldn’t do. I discovered I could be calm, proactive and comfortable with the chaos of struggle.
In pursuing transformation, I personally and visually inject my work with tightly organized clusters of symbols inspired by binary code, pop culture, archaic lettering, mathematics, alchemy, and my personal iconography. This process of “organizing chaos” is intrinsic and cathartic and visibly creates stability in my work.
