As we face the threat of COVID-19 pandemic, life as we know it is in a swirl. We are having to social distance ourselves from each other. A behavior so unnatural to a very social species.
The corona virus has jumped from the animal kingdom and is spreading throughout our lives. Human destruction and abuse of the planet may be finally catching up. Pandemics are just one-way nature uses to bring balance back into the fold. Environmental disasters are another.
This piece developed out of my current level of anxiety which parallels my unrelenting hope that we will learn to find a balance and work alongside our planet. Perhaps this is the shake-up we needed to stop depleting this earth and give it a chance to regenerate and take a breath.
While technology connects us all, it is consuming us. It is filtering our experiences and keeping us out of touch and off-balance with nature, We will need to come to terms to find balance and find a whole new appreciation for the gifts this planet gives us.
