What's really important is what lies beneath. This is true for anything. A human being is defined by who he truly is inside and that starts developing at a very young age. Same holds true for any architectural structure. it only stands firm if its foundation was laid out properly from its start. I stick to this premise with my work. It is only valuable if its foundation is worthy. I define worthy, in this case, as pure and untainted expression-a "place of mind and soul" where its hard to get to in this world we live in. In my studio, I allow myself to arrive at this state and pour it into the foundations of my current body work. The above, is a glimpse of a piece I am working on. A glimpse of what you will never actually see because it is now covered-up with it's structure. I write, splatter, render, collage and meditate during these "raw" moments of foundation.
