Awarde Visual Artist of the year 2026, VAPA Center
As an Eco-Expressionist working across several mediums over the years, I turn ecological trauma into symbolic visual work. My practice explores animal conservation, fragmentation, and humanity’s shifting relationship with nature, technology, and one another. I respond directly to the growing impact of human-centered thinking and the lasting effects of our behavior on the natural world.
Currently, I focus on large-scale sustainable assemblage. I create wall-based sculptures that function as an architectural skin, utilizing discarded textiles, papers, and broken fragments to acknowledge my part in helping to reuse. Through this process, I transform fractured materials into a sacred surface.
Rooted in automatism, my process is entirely spontaneous, layered, and fluid. I approach each piece with curiosity and a sense of play, letting intuition lead the way without a fixed plan. Color, form, and material choices unfold naturally as I work, allowing each sculpture to find its own rhythm and take shape in a way that feels alive, embodied, and emotionally grounded.
For me, the physical act of mending is like praying. I build compositions through instinct, relying on repetition to create a space where cycles of destruction and renewal can be processed. By piecing together these broken fragments to make them whole again, my methodology becomes both meditative and cathartic—inviting a deeper awareness of our shared connection and responsibility to the world around us.
