Over a billion animals have died since the fires erupted in Australia in 2019. I'm posting this in mid January 2020. The animals that haven't perished are in a terrible predicament, facing extreme burns, loss of habitat and threatening their species survival. The global impact of this tragedy is sobering. Koalas, once taken for granted are now an endangered species. Sobered by this reality, I have to speak about Koalas.
Manatees are endangered and primarily are loosing numbers due to injury from boats who decide not to obey wading zones. They are also dying because they are getting tangled in plastic, fishing gear and ropes which keep them from coming-up to the surface to breathe.
